Things I noticed in Kyoto that I don't want to forget
The temple gardens are raked every morning regardless of whether it rained the night
before.
Nobody explains this to visitors. You either notice it or you don't.
The moss on the stones at Saihō-ji is 700 years old and they limit visitors to 30 a
day. You have to write a letter to request entry. I didn't go. I'm still thinking
about whether that was the right call.
