Hello world
I’m excited to test out Owldo.
I have a borderline unhealthy obsession with note taking apps.
I’ve probably tried at least 50 of them.
Almost none of them stuck for longer than a year so there’s no guarantee this one will.
But it caught my attention for a few reasons:
- It’s offline first
- It has a publishing component
- I has a minimalist vibe (which is even more impressive given the second point)
My first impression was it seems like a good place to share medium length 100-200 word notes. And either develop them into polished essays or leave them half-baked.
Since it’s a notes app at its core, there’s no real pressure to be witty or insightful or to “build an audience.”
But the newsletter feature is also there in case that happens by accident (which of course is something no writer will ever complain about).
Not sure if that’s what they’re going for, but I kind of like it.
