Feature

Software that respects your hard drive.

Cloud-first apps treat your device like a dumb terminal. If your Wi-Fi drops, the app freezes, the loading spinner appears, and you are locked out of your own thoughts.

Owldo is local-first. We treat your hard drive with respect. The app reads and writes to a local database instantly, and treats the cloud as a background convenience, not a strict requirement. It is software that actually belongs to you.

Our Philosophy

You shouldn't rent your data. You should own it.

Proprietary cloud databases are traps designed to make it impossible for you to leave. Owldo rejects this hostile approach. Your notes are standard Markdown. You can export your entire database at any second, which forces us to build a product so good you'll want to stay.

Zero Latency Capture

Because every note and task is written locally first, Owldo opens in milliseconds. There is no waiting for a server request to resolve. The time between you opening the app and capturing a thought is near zero.

Background Syncing

When you do have an internet connection, Owldo silently syncs your local database changes to our secure servers, pushing them to your phone, your Windows PC, and your Mac. But if you walk into a dead zone, the app continues to function at 100% capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Owldo work on airplanes?

Absolutely. You can open the app, write a full project brief, complete 10 tasks, and close it—all without a Wi-Fi connection. It will sync automatically when you land.

Is sync free?

Owldo is free for local, single-device usage. Cross-device sync requires the $3/mo subscription.
